Proven Experience That Puts Students and Teachers First.
LCSD1 Board of Trustees · Election Day Nov 3, 2026
Every child deserves an education that paves the way to success, dignity, and self-reliance — and thirty years in our schools have prepared me to help deliver it for LCSD1.
What this campaign is about
A few clear priorities
Fiscal effectiveness
Working with all stakeholders to navigate severe budget challenges and make the courageous decisions that keep our district fiscally responsible and forward-thinking.
Empowering stakeholders
Building a culture that listens to community, parents, employees, and students — where every voice is valued and we become the district of choice for educators.
Instructional excellence
Championing challenging coursework and a genuine focus on character, citizenship, and reasoning, so our schools are incubators of quality thinking.
Paul Bankes, candidate for the LCSD1 Board of Trustees.
Meet the candidate
Rooted here. Invested in our schools.
I'm a lifelong educator with deep Wyoming roots, and I came home to Cheyenne five years ago to serve the community my family loves.
For more than thirty years — in the classroom, in the principal's office, at central administration, and in the boardroom — I have done the work of improving schools. My leadership raised achievement in three high-poverty schools that others had given up on, earning state recognition in each. I've backed teachers and staff, and built the kind of culture where good people want to stay. I don't come to this with theories about what might work. I've done it, and I'd like the chance to do it for LCSD1.
